Cannot install re-install office 2007

My office 2007 office would not open but excell and everything else in office works fine. I tried to re-install office with the disk but it says there is another installation in progress and my computer won't update to service pack 3 it just says unable to apply update.

Uninstall office, restart, and then install office.
