Cannot install wireless router

I unpluged ny old router and tried to install the new wireless one but it did not work and now I cannot un install it to try again

log onto the router most of them are 192.168.1.1
admin and password.
you should then go to the wireless settings and change it from n to n and b and g. if your old cards in the house are b and g slow the router down to 54meg speed.

What router is it? How did you "install" it (e.g. plugging it into computer and used the disc that came with it)? In what way does it not work (does it give you an error message)?
