cannot partition evo 840 ssd macbook 2009

the drive was recognized BUT I could not partition or erase it? Now it does not show up in disk utilities and I am stuck? Looking to save this mac if you can help? thanks

if you have a windows pc plug it into that and boot to windows go the the start menu search and write Disk Management , your ssd will show up here then format and then you can do whatever with it e.g. partition

Thanks, but only have the macbook pro. Just found it strange that it did show up, but could not erase or partition it and now it doesn't show at all?
