When I try to ping the 127.0.0.1 address, I keep getting General Failure. I've tried everything that I can on Google. Ipconfig /release /renew, which says it cannot do that while media is disconnected. I've tried using DHCP, and Static IP addresses, Uninstalling and rebooting the PC, flushed the dns, netsh winsock reset, just rebooting the PC itself, and nothing is working. Any help would be great. This PC is for work, and really don't want to wipe it and start all over again.

I tried pining that after I could not ping the DNS server or the gateway, or any other ip address. Every other PC on our network is working fine. Wirelessly and wired. I have tried both on this laptop as well.

What devices do you have listed under network adaptor in Device Manager? Are there any warnings or errors for any of them? Did you install drivers for whatever adaptor you're using?

I'm assuming the underlying problem you're trying to fix is that you can't connect to internet/LAN, correct?

Yeah, that is the main problem. I've got the ethernet adapter, the wifi adapter, and the bluetooth adapter, and about 7 different WAN miniports, and none of them are showing as having any problems. According to Device Manager, they are all good.

I've tried both, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and still getting same error. I'm about to reinstall Windows and start from scratch, but I would love to know what could be causing this, incase it happens again.
