Cannot play game at high setting.. need help

hi, got a problem where I cannot set game to play at high setting.

CPU: fx-6100
GPU: HD7850
mobo: 970a-g45
ram: 2x4gb hyperx
OS: windows 7 ultimate (64)

I wonder if there is bottlenecking with my pc. I search throughout youtube, most of them can play game like crysis3, gtaV, with high setting. but when I set to high setting, I never get the fps above 30, sometime 15fps.

I think about upgrading my gpu to gtx-1060

my target is gaming 1080p only

well you should upgrade your gpu, along with your cpu, both are kinda lacking in power, more so the gpu over the cpu

what cpu would you prefer to go along with gtx1060? i'm thinking amd 8350

well the 8350 would be better, but all of the fx series is pretty dated, I would get the gpu, then wait for zen to come out and grab up one of those

zen hasn't come out yet, if I upgrade gtx 1060 now, will fx-6100 bottleneck my gpu? i will get zen later

You could always overclock to get more out of it but watch your temps if you're running with the stock cooler. Check Task Manager while you're playing to see if your CPU usage is hitting 100%. If it is, your CPU is the bottleneck. If not, it's your GPU. It probably is your CPU bottlenecking your PC but do this just to double-check.

can you link a good video how to overclock my cpu. I have hyper 212 evo cooling on my cpu. I think its around 30-60% during gaming sometimes 80%
