So pretty much whats going on is that i upgraded m monitor to Dell UltraSharp U3415W: 3440x1440p at 21:9

I use a gtx 970 graphics card(soon SLI) and im trying to play far cry 4 or gta 5 at that resolution...

Soo far when i got settings: fullscreen/3440px1440p and i apply it on both games, theres black bars at the side, but if i change the resolution to 2560x1440p it gets fullscreen and gets rid of the black bars.

that happens on both games and im not sure whats the issue.

i checked nvidia and i have the latest drivers.

i cant find out whats the issue

Solution
The bottom of the Nvidia spec I posted says you need dual digital output connectors to reach the max resolution... this could be the case for anything above 2560x1440.

I have the exact same display and SLI 970's and run FC4 with no issue using the displayport connector (make sure its 1.2 compliant) some older games will require you to run them in Windowed mode as they cannot support the 21:9 3440 x 1440 res.

I am actually running a 3 monitor setup with 2 x 1920x1200 panels either side of the Dell U3415W but with the games only on the Center Primary display.
