Cannot recover data from formated WD Pasport external hard drive

Hello every one
I am having the same terrible issue with WD Pasport external hard drive. The WD passport didn’t recognize my password any more and I count open it. Base in lots of opinions I decide to format it and was hoping that with some of the recomended programs I will be able to recover at list some of the data.
Very disappointed I found out that no program can do the job…recuva and some other ones I tried recover some but the files are in a strange format that cannot be opened or read it seems that there is some kind of encryption….hope some e one can help me out

If it was encrypted, the data is gone.

If there was a password on the files, that means there was encryption on them. Formatting would have just lost all the information. Any information that you happen to recover will still be encrypted.

WE passport using hardware encryption, without a password you should have try

i still cannot believe that i lost all the data...i still hope that will be a program somewhere to be able to recover at list some of my photos and fammily videos ....so sad ...

If a encryption is easy broken, you won't be using it the first place.
