I recently took a hard drive out of a external case and put it into my pc. I have taken all of my files off of it, and want to format it so I can use it properly as a sata drive. However, the drive does not show up in file explorer, and I can't seem to do much with it under Computer Management. I've attached a screenshot of what the computer management windows looks like. The drive I am trying to format is 3TB, and I also have a 240GB SSD and 1TB HDD. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

Solution

Delete all partitions on the drive;
Convert it to GPT;
Create one big partition using all of unallocated space;
Format it;
Assign drive letter.
