Hi All,

I am currently trying to reset the BIOS / CMOS on a HP Pro 3300 SFF Computer (P/N: A2P27PA).

Documentation explaining how to perform the reset is not conforming with the connector labeling which I am seeing on the motherboard itself.

Below is a link to the HP instructions for this computer -

Here is an image of BIOS reset connectors on the motherboard -

To begin with; the HP instructions refer to a jumper called 'CLR_CMOS' which is nowhere to be seen on the motherboard. Instead the two connectors (shown above) are present and I believe that it is a safe assumption that the connector called 'BIOS_RECOVERY' takes its place.

However even if this is the case there are many issues with the instructions as highlighted below -

Point 6)., has incorrect grammar 'pins' (plural) is used to refer to an or scenario. This grammatical issues is also true of Point 7).

Furthermore my motherboard had no link on the 'BIOS_RECOVERY' connector. I was able to locate one and place it across pins 1 & 3 (as indicated by the user manual) however doing so did not reset the BIOS.

If anybody has any suggestions on how to fix this issue they will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Hi All,

Thanks for your answers; I have now located the 'CLR_CMOS' jumper. However after following the instructions the BIOS has not reset. Furthermore I have removed the battery multiple times with no effect. I have now pulled the battery again and will leave it over the weekend. Ultimately I think that the BIOS is probably 'cocked' and is simply not resetable anymore.

Kind Regards,

Davo
