I've been fighting all day trying to get back to using the iGPU in my Intel 10700K.

I initially used the iGPU for about a year. I then wound up with a spare 1050 Ti and have used it for about 2 years.

I now want to repurpose the 1050 Ti to another machine - I thought it would be easy - remove the 1050 Ti and plug the monitor into the MOBO port....but it ain't happening... 🙁

When I take out the 1050 Ti, I don't even get to BIOS - the machine loops with seeming to start up for about 5 seconds and then powering down and immediately starting again for 5 seconds and powering down again.

When I look in device manager (I can only do this with the 1050 Ti in place), the only display adapter it shows it the 1050 Ti. I've tried to load iGPU drivers from both ASUS and Intel and they fail as if there is no iGPU existing....

I've cleared CMOS, removed the battery, I've downloaded new BIOS to have a completely fresh start on the MOBO.

I don't think it's anything in Windows 11 itself since it fails - before posting. I don't get any beeps from the MOBO speaker.

Since it loops, I really don't get an error code from the MOBO as it's flashing through numbers before powering off. Only clue is the MOBO lights - I get CPU and BIOS indicator but never reach the VGA indicator before it powers off and back on....

It's like the iGPU has disappeared..!!!

I'll take any and all suggestions or ideas with thanks in advance!

This isn't a software problem it's a hardware problem. Check in your BIOS for any options regarding the IGP. Unfortunately motherboard manufacturers have been complete trash at putting BIOS options in manuals for years now so you basically need to just look through it to find what you're looking for.

The only setting I can find is one that enables both the GPU and the iGPU simultaneously.

If I enable both, it won't boot to BIOS, with the GPU removed and relying on the iGPU, it won't boot to BIOS and whenever I use the GPU for primary display, the iGPU doesn't show up anywhere.

I would think that completely reloading BIOS with no GPU installed would replicate the initial install which only had the iGPU...but that doesn't work either.

Using the iGPU, it sometimes gets farther than others before it fails and power offs....one time I actually saw the 'Press F2 or Delete' screen for a second before it fails.

Since the fail is a power off, there's no code left on the MOBO display for any hints as to the failure.

Given that everything works fine with using the GPU and the iGPU failures 'try' to run and fail at different points, I'm starting to think there may be a hardware problem involving the iGPU. Unfortunately, I don't know that there's any way to tell if it's the MOBO or the CPU since iGPU use is interdependent... 🙁

I absolutely agree and you're right there isn't any way to tell. I doubt this is it, but you could try to reseat the CPU and cooler as sometimes bad contact or debris could cause something like this. I'd really bet on CPU/mobo problem though.
