I start up mobile hotspot within windows thinking this is going to be crazy easy. Connect with my LG G5 to make sure and bam! 65mbps, "excellent" connection, 2.4ghz.

I bought this adapter for the sole purpose of broadcasting a 5ghz signal, and connecting to it with this one device. I can't find anything in "Adapter Options" that would give a hint on how to make this happen, and I used Device Manager to update the driver for it, thinking that would fix it. I tried some Google-fu, but all I found were just... thousands of posts asking the exact same questions, trying to use an AC adapter to connect to an access point.

I'm trying to use an AC adapter to CREATE an access point - a 5ghz one, for the full (or hopefully close to it) 867mbps this thing is rated for on 5ghz.

I'm at my wits' end here. I appreciate your time guys.

This is the adapter I'm using. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077GQV82S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Solution
The problem is if its generic as i see it may be there is no specific driver or software that can control it but i remember using one generic software to control it as this one
try it https://www.mediatek.com/products/connectivity-and-networking/broadband-wifi
MT7612E or U but try U first.

As it dont have Bluetooth as i see im not quite sure would it work as software.
But in specs says that it has bluetooth (for chipset but it isnt said nowhere).

KEEP IN MIND THAT INSTALLING UNSUPPORTED DRIVER CAN CRASH WINDOWS ON LOADING!

It may be from EDUP as other link suggests but there is no software that can download it.

Next time buy from known brand because of this issues can happen, sometimes they give description wrong.
