Cannot send webcam photos by email

Hi, I use gmail but my email programme is Windows Live. When I try to send webcam photos by email they just sit in the outbox, though non webcam photos send ok.
Also when I save webcam photos I cannot locate them after saving.
Any advice appreciated!

What file extension is used for the saved webcam pictures? Also, how large are they? 2 possibilities come to mind, an illegal/unknown (for sending) file type or one too large to send.

Thanks! I worked it out! I had to copy the photos (no save option available) into My Pictures.
Now I can attach them to emails.
