Question Cannot Turn on PC. Have to remove 24-Pin to turn on.

So yeah. My computer won't turn on every time I shut it down. I have to remove the 24 pin motherboard cable before it powers on. This problem started around a few days ago. At first I thought it was the power button, but after shorting the connector, it still won't turn on. When I removed the 24 pin cable and re connected it, it then turned on. And btw, every time I do that my BIOS settings reset so I have to do my OCs again and again.

Oh and every time I shut my PC off, it will turn on back again automatically.

Any help?

If BIOS settings reset by removing power, then BIOS battery is dead. Replace it.

PC turning back on is possible because of some wake up event configured in BIOS (default settings).

this is indicative of a low or dead BIOS battery. CR203 lithium button cell.

what are your specs and include PSU model and age?
