Hi All!
I have an Asus M11BB tower and it's running an old BIOS.
I want to update the bios to the newest version (which I have verified as the right one for this system on the ASUS website), but the EZ-Flash utility won't "see" the file when I unzip it (I end up with a .CAP file), and when I point to the Zipped file, it drills down and reports "THIS IS NOT A VALID UEFI BIOS!"
Help, if you can? Many thanks. I greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
*** SOLVED ***
ASUS came through with a somewhat unorthodox - but perfect - solution. Here are the steps:
1. Go to ASUS' support website and search for your system's Model Number - in my case it was M11BB.
2. Select "Driver & Tools" from the menu choices, and select Windows 8 32-bit as your OS.
3. Scroll down to "Utilities" and select "ASUS EasyUpdate application" & download.
4. Install the utility.
5. Launch it when finished, and click "Check Server". It will likely say there are no updates for your system.
6. Select the middle column which will allow you to point the utility to a local file. Point toward your previously downloaded BIOS file, and install it.
7. The utility will install the BIOS. You then need to reboot the system and immediately press F2 or DEL to enter the BIOS.
8. Enter the BIOS, follow any on-screen prompts, and then select the system's default configuration.
9. Save & exit the BIOS & restart the computer. Enter Windows 10 and confirm everything is working appropriately.
10. You can then uninstall the EasyUpdate utility.
I hope this proves helpful to others with issues installing newer BIOS files on older systems. Thanks!
