The audio on your motherboard is run by a driver. If that driver is corrupted, overwritten, or deleted then as far as Windows is concerned it doesn't exist. That is probably the reason that is doesn't show up under Sound in the Control panel.
Presumably the motherboard audio was working at one time. That driver was originally part of your motherboard drivers. If you download that and install it, your audio should show up in the Control Panel under Sound.
Just because you installed a graphics card is irrelevant at this point. It would just be another option on the above Sound page to choose from.
Alternatively, you can purchase a PCI Sound card and use that as your audio source. Or you can use a monitor with speakers.
Or you can replace the motherboard.
k. listen MY DRIVERS ARE FINE. my gpu did NOT remove my drivers. i removed the graphics card and ON BOARD AUDIO RETURNED. but when i put my gpu BACK IN and connect my monitor with hdmi i can no longer use onboard audio.
IM TRYING TO USE A MONITOR WITH NO BUILT IN SPEAKERs OR AUDIO OUT PORT, SO THEREFORE I NEED TO PLUG IN SPEAKERS NO MY COMPUTER but that option does appear to be possible.
i didn't think it was that hard to understand what im trying to do.
