Would go with nikon. More pixels, cheaper, and more focal points for auto focus. Everything else "SEEMS" to be similar.

I am planning to a new one camera and these 2 cameras are included to my choices. I’m interested for their features like in Canon 700D the fastest video auto focus and have a touch screen. To Nikon D5300 much better image quality (around 40% better image quality) more dynamic range, significantly larger screen, higher true resolution (capture more than 30% more detail in your photos) lighter (around 20%lighter) and also cheaper price we’ve seen is $156 (more than 20% less) so for the two, more points is Nikon D5300.
