We have several Canon iR-ADV C5255 printers in my office with about 1,000,000 impressions apiece. Canon is telling us that we need to replace the printers now, but I have heard of laser printers with 4,000,000 impressions or more that are still in good working condition. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of printer? How many impressions can we realistically expect? Should we replace our machines now, or maybe swap them out for less-used printers in other areas of the building?

If the print quality is still good and you aren't having maintenance issues with the printers, then I would recommend you keep using them. Of course, the Canon reps will suggest buying new. Up to you when to spend the money, now or later.

Relocating devices to even out the print load/usage is a good idea as well.

Good luck.
