I have a problem with this Canon MX892 printer with any kind of test page or scanned image I try to print out. I did a Nozzle pattern check test page and a print head alignment value page, which are shown below:

Now, I have tried replacing the PGBK cartridge only with another one I had laying around, still sealed in box. It did not seem to help the issue. I have also tried the "Deep Cleaning" mode in the Printer maintenance menu as well; the issue still persisted. I have tried reseating all of the ink cartridges back into the Print Head carriage. The issue still continues.

What could be the cause of this issue? What else should I try? I couldn't find anyone else with this specific issue (or at least, describing it as severe horizontal black lines across an image). I am hoping to get another couple months out of this printer.

There are quite a few issues like yours around, it's nothing new. It's a print head issue. If cleaning did not fix it you need to replace them, but for inkjets they are not designed to be very servicable. You may be better off just buying a new printer.

It's clearly...

PGBK is the cartridge name of the bigger Black ink. Its also called PGI-225 BK on the Canon Ink package.

All the inks, except for PGI-225 BK give those horizontal lines through every single image. And I've replaced it with yet another PGI-225 BK cartridge and it's doing the same thing.

I will try to clean out the Print head today and see what results it yields.

I just tried reinstalling the printer driver now, and I am getting the same result.

Also, these lines through the image happens from the physical Scan + Copy function at the printer. When I make copies using the printer's physical buttons, it does this same problem.

I tried cleaning the Print Head and it worked for a couple of prints, but it back to doing the same thing: lines through the page.

Does it look like I need to buy a Print Head replacement? 🙁

This is really strange that I can't find anyone else with this similar problem online, too.

Wait... I said uninstall the old one first... then restart your computer... don't just reinstall over the old software... the corruption would just carry over.

It's clearly not a driver issue, don't bother with that.
