Hello,

My Canon Pixma MG7110 is having ghost/double PGBK (black text) printouts.
The nozzle check print looks like this:

Normal cleaning, deep cleaning, head alignment, nothing works.
Any ideas?

Did you try reinstalling the drivers?

Likely that you did that but since you did not directly mention doing so felt it best to ask.

However since the problem is showing up via the self print/test then the printer is most likely defective or broken.

How old is the printer? Any warranty left?

I can confirm that it is not a driver corruption issue, because it happens with 3 different computers (with win 7, 8.1 and 10 respectivelly)
In fact canon replaced the whole printer once, because of this symptom, when it was on warranty. It's not the first time it occurs.
After a few months it happened again, it took it there again, and they said that they replaced only the printhead.
Now it is out of warranty, and it happened again. The printer is relatively new (less than 1000 pages printed so far).
Maybe a design flaw of this model ?

Could well be a design flaw or just some low quality component therein.

Maybe a visit to Canon's website via its Forums and FAQs will tell you if other people are experiencing the same problem.

You might also document the printer's problem history and see if Canon will again replace it. Perhaps via some "lemon law" if your home country or state has such laws.

See if you can contact Canon's management and complain via letter or email. Just keep your communication simple, honest, and straightforward. Be professional and non-abusive. Present the historical timeline and details. Atach other documents as proof or backup.

With any luck someone at Canon might recognize the opportunity to make things right.

I already tried the official Canon forum and yes, there are other people with the same problem, even with other Canon models (not only my model). Most of them gave up. But can I complain AFTER the warranty period ? I think my country (Brazil) only has consumer laws for free service/replacements during the warranty period 🙁 I think Canon is too big to reach their management, but I can see if they have an ombusdsman or something. Thanks for the tip. If nothing works, maybe I will try to buy a new printhead and install myself 🙁
