CAN'T* sry for typo




i installed http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820148160 to my acer aspire x1700
2 slots 4GB ram
when i start the pc its stuck at the start up screen (the screen where you can access bios) and just freezes there
and no i cant get in bios

now when i put back my original ram stick, I got the dreaded BSOD, so it was stuck in this loop forever, until I removed 1 stick of RAM (2Gb), then system completed and loaded to desktop just fine.

Can't get the page you linked.... it seems to be 404'ed.
Just try the laptop on with 1 stick or RAM in it at a time. See which ones don't give you a BSOD and then use just them together and see if they work fine.

1. its a desktop
2. i tried all the slots with individuals and both, nothing seems to work
it just seems incompatible, but now even my original sticks don't work. unless i put in only 1 of the sticks(2GB)

Oh, ok.....
Have you been resetting the BIOS with a change in the RAMs? Cos if they're of different timings and voltages you will end up with problems....
Reset the BIOS physically by either shorting jumpers or pulling out the CMOS battery.
Then Insert one stick of RAM and try it.

The Button Cell on the Mobo.
You need to go thru the Manual if you're in such doubts.

i found it now.. so you want me to remove that?

Yes, remove it for a minute when the power is completely off. Make sure it's not plugged in or on.
Then after about a minute or two, you can reinsert the battery and start up the rig.
