Hey Fellows,

I got a new monitor today, XR341CK , and as soon as I opened the box I installed COD Black BO3
The new game detected my hardware and started out at a refresh rate of 75hz.

But when I went to play Assassins Creed Syndicate, I tried to set the refresh rate to 75hz and the screen just blinked between off and "no signal," until I hit the back button and my previous settings were restored.

Bummer. I was really looking forward to seeing that game at 75. I was able to get Vsync off, I don't suppose your suppose to have it and Freesync on at the same times, but anything else I adjust starts the screen blinking. The higher resolutions that the monitor can achieve are not even listed in the settings of the game either (1920 x 1080 is as high as it will go).

Solution
The vsync option only affects the monitor when going out of the monitor's freesync range which is 30-75hz. If you have tearing, put it on and if you don't, leave it off.

Displayport. The one were both ends are identical in size and shape. Its the first time I used diplayport. It came with the monitor.

Call of Duty Black OPS 3 ran at 75hs refresh rate?

Well, display port should be more than enough. As k1114 said, that means it's most likely Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft games always have issues like this. You might want to snoop around for custom resolution and refresh rate settings for the game. Just note that the game performs poorly in general and that's not likely to improve with a higher refresh rate. You'd need two GTX 980 Ti or Fury X to run this game smoothly at 4k 75 Hz, and those will have to be overclocked.

That is ridiculous (even for 4k). I'll try adjusting the ini. file like k1114 said then report my results. Your right though, it's always something like this with Ubisoft.

BTW: Should I be turning Vsyn off now that I have a Freesync Monitor?

Adjusting the .ini file worked. I should have picked the other post for the solution (my mistake).

The game did run a little strange at 75hz. It didn't lag, or have screen tear, its kind of hard to explain.
It was like there was a lot of frame per second on the screen, but all those frames were still choppy. Like a video game instead of real world.

The game did seem to run better when the in game time was during the night. A lot of games seem to do that, I wonder if Bloom effect has something to do with that. But the ambient effect that the wide screen monitor gave to the sandbox was surprisingly immersive. I kind of assumed that wide screen would help out shooters, but really wouldn't add much effect to trail cams. But the world did seem to come alive more when the field of view was more peripheral.

So do you think I should run this game at 60hz?

My FPS is around 39 (according the FRAPS). Turning Freesync off seemed to make the character move through the environment slightly faster, but produced small amounts of screen tearing. The tearing only seem to appear when the environment was back dropped by certain colors. Looking towards the sky seemed to produce small amounts, and if back dropped against brick it became noticeable. This may have just been what was distinguishable by the human eye though.

I'm a pretty sensitive gamer, and the tearing didn't really bother me all that much, that's how minimal it was. I still really feel I should be getting more that 39 with my hardware though. But I know what people are going to tell me,
