I recently built a new system:
samsung 840 SSD (OS installed here)
1TB WD hard drive
gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H
gtx 660
windows 7 ultimate

I've had this setup running perfectly for a couple months now and i recently tweaked the bios setup to make the computer boot as fast as possible but now its either seems to be skipping the post screen where it shows the gigabyte splash screen or my keyboard isnt working during this time (or both).

The splash screen is not visible at all and ive tried mashing the delete key as fast as i can with both my main wireless keyboard an old wired USB keyboard but nothing seems to work, ive also tried disconnecting my video card and hard drive but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Ive plugged the usb keyboard into both the front and multiple ports on the back and ive read other posts that suggest plugging it into a usb 2.0 port but mine only has 3.0. Also i dont have a PS/2 keyboard (if that would even make a difference).

Please help!

**worth noting that my computer is fully functioning the only problem is that when i restart/shutdown then reboot, i cant access the bios

You have to reset the bios to clear that super fast start option, then you can enter and reset things to what you want. If you select the next to the fastest boot time option you still have time to get into the bios.

and how would i do that for my motherboard?

Unplug the PSU then move the Clear CMOS jumper down in the lower inside corner (by the SATA ports) of the motherboard. Refer to page 33 of your manual for a picture.

If you don't have a jumper handy just short the two pins with a screwdriver for a moment -- it's safe as all is powered down.

I have built several Z87 machines and got stuck in that situation too. :)

Awesome, just reset the bios following the instructions you gave me and everything is the way i wanted it now. Thank you so much! Your help is greatly appreciated 😀
