Cant access bios menu or boot menu Acer V5-571-6806

I am trying to install windows 7 on a second partition on my new laptop.

Acer Aspire V5-571-6806

I did a custom install, then I got the whole secure boot error that windows 8 machines get. I was able to access the bios/uefi menu and turned off secure boot.

It rebooted and then went to the windows logo, hung for a bit, then it restarted.

I cannot access the boot menu, uefi menu, anything. On startup I tried hitting F2 like the manual says and nothing. I turned off quick/hybrid boot in windows 8 too and still nothing.

Any help?

I have a V5-571G and the same problem.

Seems that Acer don't want we use the legacy bios. I sent an email to acer support.

Try Booting as far as you can, then press (and hold) the power switch until it shuts down, then power back up; it should boot normaly with a BIOS/Boot menu prompt.

It works(I have to stay on the power button for many seconds), in sense that the system boots from the internal hdd and Windows 8.
There is no way to start the system using a different device.
Also the 16GB emergency boot pendrive created with windows 8 itself does not start (selecting its starting from windows 8 UEFI... but doesn't work).

It seems that the only way to recover from an hdd failure is to replace the disk with another model set up by a different PC... after disassembling half notebook.

Power on and imidiate press and hold the F2.
Jump to the boot menu and select a different bootdevice.
