Hey guys,

I just installed my new Crucial MX500 M.2 drive and now I can't get into the BIOS to enable it. I was just in it a few months ago to adjust fan curves for new cooler. It seems fastboot maybe got turned on somehow although I didn't touch it. When I start it up from a full shut down, not hybrid shutdown the screen stays black instead of displaying Asus ROG logo for 10 seconds then goes to Windows login screen. If I hit the DEL key it just stays black until I hold power button.

So far I have tried the following:

Unplugging second monitor (no ROG splash screen, boots like normal)
Unplugging boot drive (screen stays black)
Windows recovery to UEFI resart (screen says black)
No option to disable hybrid shutdown
Hold shift on shutdown click (no ROG splash screen, boots like normal)
"Shutdown /s /f" Command prompt (no ROG splash screen, boots like normal)
Clear CMOS (no ROG splash screen, boots like normal)

The only thing I havn't done is remove the M.2 but that is cause I have to remove the cooler first and I don't have extra thermal paste.

My specs are:

Asus Maximus Hero vii
Intel core I7 4790K
EVGA GTX 970 SSC

Thanks.

Solution
did you try a different keyboard? preferably a wired one. make sure its connected to a usb 2.0 port.

you could also try asus's bios flashback feature. instructions here:
