[SOLVED] Can't access internet anymore, wired straight to Arris modem

So my PC connected perfectly fine until yesterday. Now it says I'm connected, but I can only access Google, YouTube and Facebook. Running Diagnose gives me the super common "Settings are configured correctly but the DNS is not responding" error.

Heads up, though, I have gone through every post that my search had thrown up for me, and I have tried every single common solution to no avail.
Release, renew, DNS flush and register, netsh commands, Google's DNS servers, all my stuff's set to auto. Called my ISP, not their problem they said. I've even done the windows reset. Nada.
Now the messed up part? Borrowed a router to test it out. When I'm hard wired into the router, I can get on just fine, though my download speed is like, 1/4 of what I got wired to the modem.

So long story short, PC can connect to the DNS through a router, but no longer can with being hard wired to the modem.

And I don't really want to have to go out and buy a router, considering I never needed one prior.

Any idea what in the hell is going on?

Solution
Well I can see that the DNS has a strange value fe80::10%13 thats odd. I have a theory and maybe a solution I did say maybe 😉.

Here is what i would try

1. - disable the IPv6 Address than reboot the system.

2. - change the DNS address to open DNS.

OpenDNS.

Once you read this uncheck the IPv6 to disable it. than change the DNS to what the link dns addresses. Than flush the dns cache by opening a terminal and copy and paste.

ipconfig /flushdns
I need to confirm that the issue it not wireless adapter correct? Lets see of this below shares light. Open a terminal
If you do know how press windows key + R than type in CMD.

Now once the terminal copy and paste the command hit enter. Look for DNS, IP information. 192.168.0.0 example.

Ipconfig /all

I suggest in the future post your issue brfore a reset cause a windows reset thats a last resort.

Well, if it helps any, I do not have a wireless adapter. Ethernet only, lol.

That did it, my good friend! I've tried each of those separately, but I never thought to try them all together.

Fantastic, In order for IPv6 addressing to work the ISP has to provide IPv6 connectivity. I think in your case they do not. The fact that they said it was your problem really bugs me. Its not a good company if they do not provide help for paying customers. If you recheck your ipconfig /all it will look normal something like below.

DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
