I recently installed vmware on my Dell XPS 15 laptop. i dont know what happened but after i restarted my pc, it would not start up.

So i went through advanced recovery and decided to revert the pc back to a restore point before i installed the program. It completed successfully but it still would not start up. Ran start up repair, still nothing. I searched online and attempted many things, but nothing worked.

After no luck i thought maybe i can reinstall windows on the free storage of the hard drive. So i plugged in my usb with the windows installation on it and deleted the partitions except for the main one. That was not enough space, so i thought maybe i could use the Extend option to take out some storage from the main partition. No luck.

Anyway, now i've decided to do a clean install. But i need all my files which are still on the ssd. i bought a m2 enclosure hoping to copy the files over, but after i plugged it into my desktop it does not appear. the device appears in Device Manager, but not in Disk Management. It even appears in Devices & Printers, but when i right click and click browse files it shows USB Drive (D:) blanked out.

Can someone help me with this. i really need the files on the drive. a

Also, the drive i have is the Samsung 950 Pro and the enclosure I'm using is the Transcend TS-CM80S M.2 Solid State Drive Enclosure Kit.
