I have a TP link WN721N dongle for my desktop and a TP link W8901N
I have assigned 192.168.1.9 as the IP address for my PC.
Recently I tried to use my Nexus 5 as a remote for VLC. I can access the VLC http interface on the PC itself at http://localhost:8080/ but my phone can't access the remote host at 192.168.1.9:8080
I thought it must be a problem with firewall, or port blocking so opened the 8080 port through router settings, disabled both windows and router firewalls.
Still nothing,
hen I thought might be some VLC problem. SO I installed Foobar and tried to use its remote. Still could not access remote host.
After that I thought lets try simple file sharing over LAN through ES file explorer. It cant access my PC too.
This feature used to work about 3 months back when I had a Windows 7 desktop and a local brand router.
I have no idea what the trouble is . Is it some windows setting? or is it some Modem configuration issue?
Any help will be appreciated. Just ask for more information if needed
