Cant access my 2nd hdd after updates

Hello. I had windows 7 on one hdd and then i bought a new one and installed windows 8.1 there. I had access on the old hdd throught the windows 8.1 but when i installed the drivers and windows did some updates i no longer have access to the old hdd!!! I dont want to format it cause i have important data there. Are there any solutions?

Edit: I get the following error J is not accessible Access is denied

Hey Nikos. That's a bit strange and it would be too coincidental to have failed the same time you've made the updates. It was like this as soon as you've updated and restarted, right? Could you please open up Disk Management to see what it says about the drive there or paste a screenshot?

Can you see your data if you boot from a Ubuntu Live CD?

Hello and thank you for your answers!!
Apparently the problem was the compatibility the windows 8.1 had with my motherboard (cause its a bit old)!!
So i just format the 8.1 hdd and now im with windows 7 again. Thank you again!
