In the routers manual it says to type in 198.168.1.1, in ipconfig it shows 192.168.0.1 but neither of these work and I don't know what to do now. Any help is greatly appreciated!
The likely cause windows security centre.
Another MS product that plays havoc when trying to connect to a router.
First change the settings to off.
Next go to your network and internet options in control panel.
Click on network and sharing, and check that you are connected to a network
You should have a label saying home network.
If you do not then click on set up a new network and connection.
Selecting the top option in the box.
It will then configure the network so it can detect the router, once it shows up in the network list.
You should be able to connect to it by using the ip address of 192.168.0.1
