Hello,
I've been able to successfully set up and connect to the VPN that my workplace uses but I can't seem to connect to any of the network shares.
I'm able to ping the machine I'm trying to access using hostname.domainname (so I don't think this is a DNS issue), however it often times out. Using the IP address of the machine also works but again it times out frequently.
I've also tried the following:
-Disabling the firewall completely on my local machine
-Disabling the firewall on the router (I know, but i was frustrated)
-Ensuring the necessary services are running
-Ensuring network discovery is turned on, as well as file sharing.
-Using a different local PC with windows 7 as opposed to windows 10 that I'm currently using
-Using a friends network (I thought it may have been a router issue and wanted to make sure
before I went down another rabbit hole)
-I also tried opening the various ports used during a VPN session AND adding the ports as rules
to windows firewall
-Unchecking the default gateway checkbox on the IPv4 settings
-Disabling IPv6 on the VPN connection
I'm completely out of ideas at this point, I'm either missing something very obvious or its an issue with my domain account at work that's blocking access (though its strange I can still connect to VPN if this were the case). Any insight would be fantastic.
