can't access router through its WAN port

Hi,

I have connected two routers using the cascade method (LAN-WAN). While I can access all devices in the primary network from the secondary router's subnet, I cannot connect to even my secondary router's interface when I type in its IP address from the first router's subnet. Is this normal? Can I learn why this happens?

If you need connectivity between the two networks, you can change the 2nd router to behave like a switch. This will create one large network.

Yup your second router thinks its wan interface is the internet and you have the same restrictions as you would if you tried to access your primary network from the internet.

That is exactly how a cascaded router using the second router WAN port should work and isolate the subnet that is created. If you want them on one network, connect LAN to LAN, disable DHCP in the second router and give it a static IP address (that is make it into an access point).
