Hi everyone, I have a huge problem. My computer was infected with a virus the other day due to my carelessness. The virus is drmkpro64.sys and when I boot up, I almost immediately bsod. But, the virus is not the worst part, I could uninstall it with the help of some online guides. My problem is that it will not let me boot into safe mode no matter what. F8 isn't working, so that's the first hurdle to get over.

As of now, I have tried everything I can think of. Unplugged everything but a ps/2 keyboard, tried looking around my bios, etc. I'd get logs but I cannot get into my computer long enough.

Because of my stupidity, I never made a backup or recovery disk, I've only backed up personal files. So all of that is (sadly) out of the question, apart from a fresh install of windows.

Any help getting into safe mode would be much appreciated.

The computer is a custom rig built back in 2012 (it's her 5th birthday next month actually) running Windows 7. I can give more details if needed.

Many thanks for reading this post, even more if you can assist me.

Solution
can you try Hiren's on CD or USB?
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

It will allow a classic bios boot to USB, or on CD, you should also be able to boot it.

From there, it loads a mini XP version. There a quite a few tools on there to scrub the HDD. Be careful, you can wipe out your systems drive.

Good luck

Hirensboot worked perfectly! Installed on a usb boot drive then followed this guide. http://www.wintips.org/how-to-disinfect-any-infected-computer-using-hirens-bootcd/ I'm going to do some deep cleaning now. Thank you so much!
