Cant acesss my USB Flash Drive.

I am trying to access my USB Flash Drive. Its a Kingston Data Traveler U3. It was encripted using Bitlocker.

I am running windows 64 Bit Ultimate that i had to do a reinstall of.

When i insert the drive it says it needs to be fornatted. The drive capacity is full though so i am assuming the files are there. CHKDSK does not work as the file system is Raw.

Windows says Bitlocker says its switched Off.

I have a copy of the Certificate in the Personal Information Format but this is no help.

Any ideas?

It says the same thing about formatting on Win Xp.

The data is in Raw Format.

Try using bitlocker to go http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/what-is-the-bitlocker-to-go-reader

Sounds like your drive is bad though.

I have trired that on a Windows XP Laptop annd no luck.

I think its the Drive if so whats the best Software to try and recover it if its possible.

You can't recover it if it's encrypted, the encryption will make the data look like garbage to any program.

Did this work at all before you re-installed the OS? And stopped soon as you re-installed it?

Yes, it was working fine but i had to reinstall Windows due to the Screen going black for a reason i could not determine.

When i did the reinstall i spotted on the BIOS that it had tried to change it to the first boot drive.

I have the Encription Key in the Personal Information Exchange Format saved on a DVD.

If the Bitlocker To Go program could not read the USB stick, I don't know how you can get to the files. You may want to wait a bit and see if anyone else answers or call Microsoft.
