Hello! I just registered even though I read this web since years. First of all sorry for any mistakes with my english.

The problem I'm having is that I have 2 GPU, 2x Sapphire R9 270X Dual-X 2GB GDDR5 aiming for a crossfire, but I can't get it work.

My PSU it's Corsair CX750 750W Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze and my motherboard it's Asrock Z87 Pro4.

The thing is that with the latest drivers, I just can't do crossfire, there is no option at all where it should be, some images:

That's the last drivers, 14.9

With the previous drivers (14.4 I think) I had exactly the same, EXCEPT for one driver, the one who came in the CD with the graphic, 13.10, with that drivers installed I can activate crossfire, but it feels so clunky and bad that I have worse performance, I feel laggy in a way, like the games gets stucked sometimes.

After that drivers, 13.12 doesn't fix the problem either.

So, it's proven that I can do crossfire, but not on new drivers, maybe it has something to be with the "x16 @ x16 3.0" and the "x16 @ x2 1.1" as far as I read somewhere.

I don't really know.

Using drivers 14.9:

Specification for the motherboard:

1 x PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16, 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1

I also have 1 soundcard and 1 network card attached.

Now here you have the screenshots when I'm using the drivers 13.10 with crossfire:

Any tips, please? does crossfire will work If i buy another motherboard with the second slot being x8? I'm thinking about it.

If I'm missing any information you may need, please let me know, but I'm seriously crazy right now.

Thanks for reading and for the help.

You can crossfire your cards using this "1 x PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16" mentioned in your original post.

May I ask you a few more questions? How are your GPUs connected together? What I mean is does it have the CrossFireX bridge?

Yes, they are connected using the crossfireX bridge.

As you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/hTtjSL6.png and here http://i.imgur.com/rtdUvfD.png I managed to do crossfire with 13.10 Catalyst drivers, I just can't do it with new drivers since the option is not there.

Oh I'm sorry. My hospital blocked imgr from their system so I don't have access to those sites.

Anyway, I would do a complete driver uninstall. Search Google for DDU and download the latest one.

It'll prompt you to use the application in safe mode, just agree to it.

You have to let the app delete all the files that are associated with AMD.

Then reinstall the drivers again. Don't try the 14.9.1 BETA as I've had troubles with that too.

Just download the 14.9

Already did that in case I uninstalled the drivers wrong, formatted pc 3 times:

First time I formatted it, installed drivers 13.10, everything worked fine, uninstalled them and installed the last, didn't work.
Second time I installed the last drivers 14.9 (not the beta ones), didn't show any crossfire option, uninstalled it and installed 13.10, everything went ok and I had the crossfire option again.
Third time I installed 14.4, everything was the same as the second time.

I seriously thinks this is a driver problem that has some issues with my motherboard, if it's not that, I can't even wonder what it is.
