In device manager it shows my on board graphics card and my Asus but my on board take priority....also i cant straight up use my Asus because it freezes my comp.....anyone know any fixes before i take it to the store?
If the onboard graphics are being used then your monitor is not connected to the GPU, it's still connected to the motherboard which is probably why it freezes up if you're trying to play demanding games on it. If your monitor is connected to the GPU then it is being used and you probably need to either install or update the drivers for it. Did you replace the power supply when you installed the card? The PSU that was used with the integrated GPU is most likely not sufficient to run that graphics card or if you have bought a cheap PSU it's very likely to be related to your problems.
Also, make sure you attached both PCI power cables to the GPU and you may need to go into the BIOS and set the PCI card as the default graphics adapter.
it only reqs 700w and i have and 850 evga.... and everytime i plug it directly into my graphics card it freezes at log in or seconds of reaching my desktop and ive updated it from my motherboard within device manager....Both cables are in properly(both green LED's are on)...i can only enter bios through my graphics card and its set to PEG
I'd also double check that the card is FULLY seated. Try removing it an reinstalling it. Be sure the lock engages on the end and that it's screwed down to the case as well. Make certain you've got the correct cables plugged into the sockets on the card and that you're in the correct slot which is most likely the long slot closest to the CPU.
Im in the downloader and it says everything is up to date... and ive actually replaced the video card quite a few times but theres also some writing around and it says dual graphics or something also the cables are the ones that came with it so believe they are the correct cables due to the green LED's.... and i noticed there is a setting for that in my bios
Also, just to clarify, when you connect your monitor to the GPU card, it will not display ANYTHING, OR boot? It freezes as soon as it tries to boot, or does it freeze in windows?

It will load up until log in or when i barely get on to the desktop screen, is it because im using hdmi? Will using a dvi cable work? My motherboard is an MSI A88X g45 gaming ps: sorry for the late reply :c
I have not yet done this but i will once i get home. But what should/will happen when i do this? i check through my motherboard and it says everything is up to date with that being said should still try this? Also would uninstalling everything help?
The motherboard has nothing to do with updating the GPU drivers.
Download and run Display driver uninstaller. Choose the AMD option and allow the safe mode reboot when it asks during the routine. Afterwards install the latest AMD drivers.

Either way is fine. You can do it without the card in, since it has problems, and after you complete the driver installation, shut down, install the card and then reboot.
Don't skip any steps though. Run the DDU and make sure to allow the safe mode reboot. Once it completes, install the driver package. Probably download the driver package first so you already have it ready to go.

Sorry for making this more difficult i just wanna make sure itll work x) but just to make sure ive got this
1.)Uninstall graphics drivers
2.)reboot in safe mode
3.)while in safe mode re install the drivers
4.)re boot normally and cross fingers
