I am trying to back up my computer to a Buffalo external hard drive, and when almost finished with the preliminaries, I get the error message: the task image is corrupt or has been tampered with. (0x80041321)
Can you help?

Hello railfank,

Here's the message:

I've moved this to our Storage section of the forums as I believe uit is an issue witht he external.
Could you please add the model# of the buffalo to your post, thanks.

The model# of my Buffalo is HD-LB 1.0 TU3. I should say that I have been using it for some 4-5 years, and can access the data on it. BUT, when I recently tried to change my Backup date & time, it gave me that message I sent you.
I would appreciate your feedback.

Seems normal message for what you did, why did you change the backup date and time? This does not match your original post. How are you trying to back up the system? What is this date time change you are doing? Changing the time manually would fall into "tampering".

Simply put, I have not been able to complete the new backup as I get the message that I originally posted. I also tried to backup to a thumb drive in a USB port, and got the same message.

And how are you doing the backup? Windows utility? What version of Windows? Has this ever worked? Are you using a pre-set backup script? Try creating a new one and run that.

You still have not answered how you are doing this backup or with what program. Are you using the same task? Have you tried creating a new task?
