I want to backup my ps3 with my 3TB hdd and USB 3.1 enclosure, but when I try to it doesn't recognize the hdd. Yes it's formatted to FAT32, I have tried with both a USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 connector, and it works fine with file transfers (USB 2.0 and 3.1) on my computer

what you gonna do about it nibba

Is there a difference between 64k and 65536 allocation, and how do you format to MBR with the FAT32 Format tool

64k means exactly that, 65536 of allocation size. Sorry for the confusion.

If you didn't yet format it to MBR, then this is the program of choice to format to MBR:
http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html

The steps are this:
1) Delete all existing partitions using EaseUS Partition Master.
2) Create an MBR partition using EaseUS Partition Master, and select "primary" for the MBR type.
3) Use guiformat to format that partition as FAT32 using 65,536 Allocation unit size.

Be careful to select ONLY your external 3TB drive, of course...

When I try to create the primary MBR partition, I click apply changes and then the window pops up to show the progress, but stays at 0% until it crashes.
