I have an older desktop PC and I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 10. It is an HP P6710f. It has an SSD and a hard disk and was set with Windows on the SSD. I think it is a Legacy BIOS and cannot boot from USB, so I am trying to boot from an installation DVD. I have tried 3 different bootable DVDs and it always boots into Windows from the SSD. I've tried searching here and elsewhere and I keep finding threads that say to make sure the boot order is set to boot from DVD first, which is what I had already done.

Here is a link to photos of my BIOS setup:

I think it is a Legacy BIOS and cannot boot from USB, so I am trying to boot from an installation DVD.
First make sure the DVDs are made for MBR not UEFI,newer software will be making boot disks for UEFI by default so they will not show up as bootable devices on older systems that only have MBR.

If you want USB boot run plop boot installer under windows,it will add a boot menu item to run plop which will disappear on its own if you do a fresh install.

I think rufus has been mentioned several times as a good app to turn the windows 10 media into a mbr usb.
an installation DVD
3 different bootable DVD

Based on your description, I wouldn't know if you bought something, made something or where it came from.
I created all the DVD's. One to install Windows 10 that I just made using the microsoft tool (on this same PC, so I know the DVD works). The other two I tried to rule out a problem with the windows install disk (I don't have another PC with a DVD to prove the validity of the windows installation disc). One is a Linux distribution that I am 99% sure I have used to install linux on a PC in the past. One Acronis rescue disk that I created a few years ago.

I also have a HP 6710f that I was trying to upgrade with an AMD Phenom II 1065T, when I 'may' have bricked my bios? I can't remember if I listed my machine, but its pretty much upgraded, ssd, 12mb, 4x20", future nvme/PCI 1,0 and a 6.11 bios, but I don't know how to 'flash' a bricked Win10pro PC?
