So yesterday I decided to make a drive partition on my drive (I only have one), so I could dual boot. I have Windows 8.1 as my main and installed Windows XP SP3 on the 40gb drive partition. Now the issue... my pc only boots windows xp! I see people having boot managers when they start up their pc but my pc doesn't even allow me to boot into Windows 8.1
With Windows, the way to create a dualboot is to install the older OS first, then the newer one.
Or do it on two physical drives, with only one connected during each install process.
Your XP install has completely eaten the boot information of your 8.1 install.
You may be able to use something like
EasyBCD to fix this.
But as I've never had to do this, I am unsure of the process, or whether it will work.
