So I had a machine with a 120GB ssd, which is worth kinda nothing. I bought an 1TB nvme and installed Win11 on it. I could run it when the 120GB SSD was installed. But now, without any other storage devices installed it won't boot. I get the black screen with the Reboot and Select proper Boot device message. Fiddled with options on BIOS and nothing worked...

Might want to share the specs to this system like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Please include the BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Check and see if your primary boot device in BIOS is Windows Boot Manager. Did you install Windows 11 while the older SSD/other storage drives were hooked up to the motherboard?

  1. Disconnect 120GB SSD
  2. Format the 1TB Nvme on the PC and install Win11 via Boot Drive
  3. If Nvme is slow it might not be a problem. Idle in bios for around 5-6sec and let the Nvme settle down.
  4. And voila! You should be ready to start your PC adventure. 😅
