Updated BIOS, but still can't boot with RAM in A1 & A2 slots. Tested all combinations. Only works with RAM installed in B2, or B1 & B2. All 4 sticks work in the B slots.

Manual recommends using A2, or A2/B2, or A1/A2/B1/B2, for 1, 2, and 4 stick configurations. I'm currently using B1/B2, amounting to 16gb.

MoBo: ASUS Maximus VIII Ranger

RAM: Crucial 32gb (4x8gb) 2133MHz - (not "qualified vendor").

I'm not sure if the MoBo is faulty, or if installing RAM from the qualified vendor list would fix the problem? If the MoBo is faulty, is there an increased likelihood of other defects arising over time?

Hi, I used all 4 sticks in B2 and it booted successfully each time. Using any 2-stick combination in B1/B2 works.

Inserting any stick in an A1 or A2 slot, in any combination, will cause the PC to boot & reset itself in an endless cycle; nothing appears on the monitor, and the Q-code displays "41", which is not listed in the manual.
