Can't browse the internet while playing games?

While playing Tekken I am able to play just fine online, but if I were to alt+tab and open up chrome I can't browse the internet I get a dns_probe_finished_ no_internet error. It's like it can't connect to the internet or like if I have a game open all my other applications such as discord can't access the internet. This is weird because I am connected online in game just fine and network diagnostics doesn't detect a problem. This problem is especially apparent on Tekken 7, while finding a match I want to browse the web, but I can't connect to the internet with neither google chrome nor discord.

I've tried changing dns settings, flushing ip, etc and nothing seems to work. I'm on a power line adapter by the way.

Solution
Honestly. Not sure. You could try using tools like TCPView and Glasswire to see what Tekken is doing while you are playing online.

However, just googling Tekken online issues. There are so many posts about online connectivity problems that it wouldn't surprise me if it was just bad netcode from the game.
when you go to a webpage a dns request provides you the ip address.
in game you aren't going to have any dns requests.

I'm not sure about why gaming programs could impact dns issues.

I'd check your dns settings in your router. try a leaktest from different devices to see if it's a dns you don't recognize try and figure out what's causing it. it is normally your isp unless you changed it to a specific one like google 8.8.8.8 or cloud flare 1.1.1.1

Check to see if you have a proxy enabled in IE, fi you do, turn it off. Also set IE to auto detect connection.

Then try changing your DNS info to automatically obtain from network adapter and do an ipconfig /all. What DNS are you getting? You may need to update DNS info from your modem or router to another provider.

If you do. I'd suggest googles DNS or OpenDNS.

You can also try downloading a DNS checker tool. It will tell you the fastest DNS to use, depending on your location.

That is really strange. If you can tracert/ping to 8.8.8.8 it means your there is no fundamental network issue.

Try nslookup again and put 8.8.8.8 on the end of the command. It will force it to use that dns server but if you have it set to that in your setting it really should do that by default.

Something must be blocking communication to port 53. It is not uncommon for the cache function in router to not work or worse your ISP to intercept dns and force it to theirs. Still that would be a constant problem. For it only to happen when the game implies the game is doing something. If this were some unknown game I would blame anti-cheat stuff but fortnite is not some stupid company that would make a fundamental mistake like that.

But it only happens while playing tekken online. Is there a way to find out what exactly is causing it?
