i have these Argb fans with controller and i cant get change the lights on them. Im pretty sure my motherboard supports it. I connect the 3 pin argb connector but i cant control it. To make matters worse the default rgb profile is horrible. Id describe it as the standard rainbow gamer effect but laggy.

Try this trick, although I don't see it described on that web page. MANY such Controller units have one button you press to change the lighting pattern among the several the Controller is designed for. But in ADDITION, you can connect a cable from the controller to a mobo 3-pin ARGB header and let the mobo system take over control of the lights. To make that choice, you must hold down the selector button on the Controller box for 5 sec or more, and then it will switch to letting the mobo signal do the job.

there is no button on the controller box. But I think i can connect the box to my cases reset button though it would be a bit of a hassle

The very first customer question on Amazon for this set:
Question:

Is it compatible with Aura Sync?

Answer:

It didn’t work with MSI mystic light, so I don’t believe it would work with Aura Sync natively. However MSI has a ARGB fan controller that you can buy that will let you sync it with Mystic Light. If ASUS has a similar fan controller, it should work.

So the question would be why you think it is compatible with your motherboard?

You said, "there is no button on the controller box. But I think i can connect the box to my cases reset button though it would be a bit of a hassle". Yes, DO THAT. Commonly, you connect a cable supplied with the box to the pair of pins on your mobo's Front Panel header where you normally have plugged in the two wires from your case's front RESET pushbutton. Polarity does not matter for these two wires. This means you no longer have a Reset button. BUT that front button IS the way you can change your light display manually. NOT having done that is why you can NOT change your lights now.

Once that is done and working AND you have also connected another supplied cable from the Controller box to your mobo's JRAINBOW1 header on the bottom edge near the front (see your manual, p. 25 and 39), try the long press on the Reset front pushbutton. It may switch to control of the lights using your mobo. Now, to get THAT to work you will need to install (from the mobo's DVD disk) the MSI utility Mystic Light.

Thanks you after connecting the reset button everything worked perfectly Probably should've done that in the start
