Well i was trying to overclock my i5 750 on my dp55wb with my new single 8gb stick of 1600mhz ram. I figured it would be easy since i got it up to 3.7 on my 2 2gb sticks of 1333 ram. So i stuck it in my new ram and everything worked great at stock settings so i went to overclocking and put everything on default. I then without changing the memory settings took the memory control of of automatic and put it into manual mode so i could change the multiplier to 8 and get 1600mhz at a 180bclk so the cpu would be at 3.6ghz but all i did at first was just change the memory tweaking to manual and then did a reboot and it gave me a memory error beep code. so i rebooted and tried various things but could not get it to boot with memory settings in manual mode. So i decided to try and overclock with the memory in automatic mode and it worked good but i could only push the bclk up to 150 before the bios started to push the memory past 1800 and it became unstable. Then i decided that it might be a memory issue so i took the 8gb stick out and stuck one of the old 2gb 1333 sticks in. Well it just ended up giving me the same problem. So even if i don't change anything and just turn on manual memory tuning while leaving everything on stock the pc wont boot and it does it with both sticks. I don't know what to do.

It seems you missed the whole point of DDR memory. DDR stands for Double Data Rate. It accomplishes that "double" by using two channels between the RAM and the memory controller whether that is on the chipset or built into the processor as most recent CPU's have it. That "double" means it is reading both sticks of memory at the same time. That actual clock rate would be 667MHz but since it is using both channels it is effectively the same as having 1333 MHz RAM.

If you only have one stick of RAM it can use only one channel so it is no longer running as DDR RAM but as interleaved RAM.

Mixing and matching different sizes and/or speeds of RAM will often do the same thing because the different RAM parameters are such that they can't be run as DDR.

To recover from your problem turn the machine off, install the RAM you want to use, and reset the BIOS by removing the backup battery and/or using the BIOS reset jumper, re-install the battery/jumper for normal operation, power up and reboot.

Well im not using 2 sticks so i don't understand what your getting at. But my bios reports the effective speeds not the speeds before.
ddr. Also i can run my pc stable at stock settings like i am now but the problem is i cant change any of the memory attributes because if i change the settings to manual it wont boot. and i have to reset the cmos. I just want to try and fix that problem.
