Can't change minimum/ maximum processor state.

When I go into power options, then advanced settings, I should have the option to change the minimum and maximum processor state. But I don't. All I can do is change it from active to passive, but I can't set the min/ max values.

I also don't have the option to "change settings that are currently unavailable." I really need to change the processor state, because my CPU is locked at 2ghz, when it should be 3ghz.

It stays at under 2ghz both under stress tests and while playing games, so don't say "that's normal.

My CPU is the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400.
My motherboard is the asustek computer inc berkeley.

what is the make and model of that motherboard? is it proprietary or did you buy it off the shelf?

I bought it off the shelf, so to speak. All I know about it is that it's the the asustek computer inc berkeley.
