Okay so I just bought a Samsung U32R590 32Inch Curved UHD 4K Monitor 3840x2160, right now I'm using a Display port to HDMI cable, and a 1050TI GPU but when I try to change the resolution it says the max is 1920x1080. I tried going into the Nvidia control panel and creating a 3840x2160 setting but without having the interlace setting the screen is just black when I enable interlacing it works but all the text looks small and grainy and the colours look really washed out.

I'm just wondering how I can get the most out of my monitor and is it even possible with the equipment I have. Gaming doesn't matter at all either guys because I don't game at all and
bought the monitor just for movies/youtube etc.

What exact GTX 1050Ti model do you have? My suspicion is that the HDMI on it might not support higher than 1080P.

GTX 1050TI

Exact monitor I bought

I am using DP to HDMI though, Displayport going from the GPU and HDMI going into the monitor.

Any more info you need, just ask. Really don't want to have wasted all this money on a glorified 1080p monitor lol.

I would agree its probably the cable then.

A side not, even if you used the DisplayPort if the HDMI only support 1080p then it will be limited to that. Same with the cable.

I agree with Glenwing. You will need a betetr adapter to get 4K using DP to HDMI. Or just go HDMI to HDMI but make sure you use a HDMI 2.0 cable.

Most DP to HDMI adapters have a maximum of 1080p. Check the product description for yours.

You need a DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter.

I've tried to find which one I bought but can't find it and can't see anything on the wire. I did find two which look exactly the same but thing is one is 4k and one is 1080 so I most likely have the 1080p one. The monitor did come with a HDMI-HDMI cable (says 'Premium High Speed / HEC' on it) but when I tried using that the monitor doesn't even connect.

Would you mind finding me one on Amazon? Just want to make sure I have the correct one, that's all.

exact same cable that came with the monitor

I've just tried the HDMI cable which came with the monitor again, and it still doesn't connect to the PC. I can get the monitor menu up and change outputs etc so the monitor is working just it's not connecting to the HDMI which is weird.

Maybe I need to put the HDMI in and restart the PC to see if can connect via the cable then, any ideas guys?
