I went to the "user rights assignment" but when I try
to "ADD" permissions for Administrators.....nothing
happens. When I click the "ADD" button I don't get the
pop-up screen with the list of groups and users. How do I
fix this????

Back-ground info: PC is Windows 2000 OS, connected to a
Win 2000 Server domain. All other Windows 2000 OS PC
function properly.

Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you are logged on as a local administrator. Normally the domain admins
group is in the local administrators group on domain computers but it can be removed.
Also verify that there is proper connectivity to the domain controller by running
netdiag [from support tools] on that computer looking for any pertinent failed tests
such as dclist, kerberos, dns, or domain membership/secure channel and look in the
Event Viewer for any errors that may relate. You can not change Local Security policy
on a domain computer if it can not contact a domain controller. Another possibility
is the local secedit.sdb is corrupt and the fix is described below. --- Steve

--- works on workstations also.
