I recently upgraded my PC and didn't reinstall Windows, it was working perfectly fine. I then updated to the new Windows 10 Fall Update.

When I full screen a game, with an app in the background (like steam/battle.net/origin) then close the game after playing. I can't click on the steam client/battle.net client. It lets me click straight through to my desktop. I have to restart my steam/battle.net to fix it. It's getting really frustrating.

Can someone help? I don't really want to reinstall/have the time, I've had to reinstall Windows 10, 5-6 times this year.

Solution
its such an odd problem, a fresh install would likely fix it BUT that feels like using a hammer. Considering its the only problem you have and it doesn't stop you using PC otherwise. I still think its tied to the new gaming features in windows 10...

topic had me thinking nothing worked at all, trying to work out a fix... that is a very interesting problem and I wonder if its tied into game mode, could try turning it off in settings and see if it makes any difference

Try upgrading GPU drivers as well

could run this and see if windows is ok
right click start button
choose powershell (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its completed, copy/paste this command into same window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth and press enter
SFC fixes system files, DISM cleans image files, re run SFC if it failed to fix all files and restart PC
