Make/model of the target drive? Can't clone SSD to HD, tried numerous programs. It won't fuly boot to where I can do anything, Drives are both 1 TB.
Use Win 7, need to use Win 10 for a program. Have 102 GB free on source. Motherboard HP339A.Make/model of the target drive?
What is the actual consumed space on the source?
What motherboard and OS?
Why cloning from SSD to HDD?
HD backup is Seagate Constellation ES 1 TBUse Win 7, need to use Win 10 for a program. Have 102 GB free on source. Motherboard HP339A.
3rd Gen i5 3570 16 gb ramCould post your system specs.
Do you care to elaborate a bit about the step taken?
Which programs are you using?
For a clone into a 1TB drive, the source drive needs to be less than 800GB consumed.Use Win 7, need to use Win 10 for a program. Have 102 GB free on source. Motherboard HP339A.

Macrium Reflect will do this easily.Tried Todo Backup Free and Aoemi Backupper Plus. Have a version of Acron is True Image I was going top try next.
Want to run same comp with Win 10 for one time use program. For a clone into a 1TB drive, the source drive needs to be less than 800GB consumed.
But 1TB -> 1TB....I'm still confused as to why.
Cloning has nothing to do with changing the OS.
So then just do a clean install of Win 10 on the HDD.Want to run same comp with Win 10 for one time use program.
So that explains it. You're saying you can't clone a drive with over 800 gb data too another 1 tb drive. I'll just move some of my movies etc. to another drive and try again. Thanks.Macrium Reflect will do this easily.
If and only if the data space fits.
As said...800GB.
Yes.So that explains it. You're saying you can't clone a drive with over 800 gb data too another 1 tb drive. I'll just move some of my movies etc. to another drive and try again. Thanks.

I don't want to be stuck with 10 and need to access some files in my old drive while running 10. That's why I wanted to clone it then do an upgrade on the temporary drive that I would use once a yr.Yes.
The operation needs some free space to do this.
But still...why a clone?
Just install Win 10 on this other drive.
Cloning Win 7 serves no purpose if you want to be running WIn 10 on this drive.
Yes, I thought about a 10 fresh install and transferring the needed files. Would have to find a 10 crack etc. then.I don't want to be stuck with 10 and need to access some files in my old drive while running 10. That's why I wanted to clone it then do an upgrade on the temporary drive that I would use once a yr.
And upgrading the Win 7 to 10 will almost certainly inactivate your Win 7 license.I don't want to be stuck with 10 and need to access some files in my old drive while running 10. That's why I wanted to clone it then do an upgrade on the temporary drive that I would use once a yr.
Sigh....Yes, I thought about a 10 fresh install and transferring the needed files. Would have to find a 10 crack etc. then.
Thank you for your help.Sigh....
No you don't.
You can install Win 10 and leave it Unactivated. Simply do not apply a license key.
It will run exactly as normal, just with a randomly appearing watermark at bottom right.
And do not suggest or ask about a 'crack' again.
Doing so will just result in this being closed completely.
