Can't connect 3 monitors with Windows 8.1?

Hi there.

So, I have this gaming PC with VGA, DVI, and HDMI. I tried to use all of those ports for 3 monitors, but one monitor is "disconnected" in Windows. I can't use all 3, I will just get an error message saying: "The display setting could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings." I tried everything, and it still doesn't work. I don't want to open the computer, because it will void my warranty, as it's a pre-built.

I came across the same issue, and error message, at work recently. The monitor wouldn't hold 3 monitors at once, or even have one and replicate across the other two.

The fix was to update the chipset drivers for the motherboard, as the DVI and VGA were coming from the motherboard, and the HDMI from the graphics card.

If you don't know the model of motherboard you have, the Support page from the company that pre-built it might have the information/drivers there.

Okay, I tried it, and still the same problem. I am about to throw my monitors in the garbage at this point lol
